Why the honed tube and chrome rod exist straightness and concentricity problem? Raw tube thickness is not uniform,the cold drawn process can only change ID/OD,but can not remove the tube wall thickness different. Hydraulic cylinders  are used for creating mechanical force in a linear motion. A hydraulic cylinder is a honed tube capped at either end with a rod sticking out of one side. Attached to the rod, interior to the cylinder, is a piston. The piston separates the internal rod side from the internal cap side of the cylinder. Fluid is forced into either side of the cylinder to extend or retract the piston rod. The piston rod is attached to the part of the machine requiring motion; it could be the boom arm on an excavator or platen on a press. Literally any application requiring linear application of force is an excellent use of a hydraulic cylinder , and no other method of linear motion is so strong and efficient as a cylinder is. Hydraulic cylinders can extend with force ranging from a couple thousand pounds up to thousands of tons. A hydraulic cylinder works on the principle of pressure difference. The hydraulic cylinders can be broadly categorised into: 1.  Single acting cylinders -  Where the pressure can be applied only in one direction and the return of the piston is either by gravity or other means such as pulling back (A bicycle air pressure filling pump). 2.  Double acting cylinders -  in these cylinders the pressure can be applied from both the sides. The other side acts as the return side (low pressure) in the forward stroke and acts as the main side (high pressure) in the return stroke. This cylinder has openings on both sides to allow for hydraulic oil to enter and exit (return to tank) from both sides alternately as per the stroke (forward or return). The hydraulic basically acts on the simple principle of Force and pressure. Force (F) = Pressure (P)*Area (A) The force exerted on the piston of the cylinder is equal to the pressure of the hydraulic oil multiplied by the area of the piston.

While producing honed tubes , our factory uses the honing process to make smooth surface finishes of inside diameters; and to maintain exact tolerances on inside diameters. Under the honing process, abrasive stones and paper are used to the ID of the tubes, which “grinds” stock away to remove surface imperfections from the cold drawing process; and to achieve the desired dimensional tolerances and surface finish. And normally we use cutting fluids to provide easy cutting action and also to remove the cut material from the bore. Honing is a decrease velocity abrading process compared to grinding. Since less pressure and heat is made, the surface, precision and size of the finished product isn’t affected by heat stress. A  hydraulic cylinder  (also called a linear  hydraulic motor ) is a mechanical  actuator  that is used to give a unidirectional  force  through a unidirectional stroke. It has many applications, notably in construction equipment ( engineering vehicles ),  manufacturing machinery , and civil engineering . Hydraulic  cylinders get their power from pressurized  hydraulic fluid , which is typically  oil . The hydraulic cylinder consists of a cylinder  barrel , in which a  piston  connected to a  piston rod  moves back and forth. The barrel is closed on one end by the cylinder bottom (also called the cap) and the other end by the cylinder head (also called the gland) where the piston rod comes out of the cylinder. The piston has sliding rings and seals. The piston divides the inside of the cylinder into two chambers, the bottom chamber (cap end) and the piston rod side chamber (rod end / head end).
