What is Hard Chrome Plating?

Image
Hard chrome plating is an electroplating process in which a layer of chromium is applied to a surface to improve corrosion and wear resistance, reduce friction, and extend the life of parts used in extreme working environments. A wide range of materials, component sizes and complexity can be plated making hard chrome a popular choice for many industrial and commercial applications. Hydraulic cylinder rods , bearing fits and seal areas frequently get damaged and worn from heavy use. When no longer functional, a part can be hard chrome plated and polished or ground back to OEM Spec. This process can be repeated multiple times reducing equipment downtime and substantial replacement costs. Our hard chrome plating process involves submerging a work piece in an electro-chemical bath. An electric current draws chromium metal from the chromic acid solution and applies it to the substrate. The result is a completely adhered layer of chromium that will extend the life of parts and compo

What is the advantage of 42Crmo4/4140 chrome cylinder rod

Image
42Crmo4/4140 chrome cylinder rod is made of DIN 42CrMo4 / AISI 4140 /JIS SCM440 steel. Cr-Mo Alloy Chromium Plated Steel Bar has greater tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation than medium-carbon hard chrome shaft. other heat treatment can be added.Through heat treatment, induction, the bar achieves high degree of scalability. Applies to piston rod, hydraulic cylinder bar, pneumatic cylinder rod, mechanical guide bar, all kinds of machinery column rod, sport equipment, aerospace engineering, and various types of machinery. Delivery Condition : Hard Chrome Piston Rod ( HRC 15-20) Quenched & Tempered (Q+T) Rod (HRC 28-32) Induction Hardened Rod (HRC 55-62) Q+T Induction Hardened Rod (HRC 60-65) Corrosion resistance: Test in natural salt spray according to ASTM B 117-96 hours. Advantage Of Our 42Crmo4/4140 chrome cylinder rod/ chrome bar /chrome shaft Precision material parts strictly according to customer&request drawing, packing and quality request 2.Tolerance: c

Chrome steel rods - standard CK45, 42CrMo4

Chrome steel rods - standard CK45, 42CrMo4 Chrome steel rods of cylinders on the piston rod or other uses as rods for linear guide rails or pins on: CK45 - bars coated with a standard hard chromium 42CrMo4 - quenched and tempered chrome rods , made of good quality, hardened and tempered steel intended especially for difficult working conditions Piston rods are available in diameters from 6 to 200 mm, also inch, are cut into sections according to the customer's wishes, the maximum length is 6 m. We sell by mail order where the goods are secured with bubble wrap and, depending on the quantity and length, are sent on a pallet. Chrome steel rods hardened due to its high resistance to damage are recommended for applications in harsh environments Hardness measured at the surface: CK45 - hardness HRC min. 54 42CrMo4 - HRC min. 54 We are able to offer best hard chrome rods and chrome bars for our customers. 4140 Quench & Tempered Stress Relieved

Image
4140 Quench & Tempered Stress Relieved 4140 Quench &Tempered -a steel in the family of SAE steel grades, as specified by the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE). Alloying elements include chromium and molybdenum, and as a result these materials are often informally referred to as chromoly steel (common variant stylings include chrome-moly, CrMo, CRMO, CR-MOLY, and similar). They have an excellent strength to weight ratio and are considerably stronger and harder than standard 1020 steel, but are not easily welded (need pre and post weld thermal treatment to avoid cold cracking). While these grades of steel do contain chromium, it is not in great enough quantities to provide the corrosion resistance found in stainless steel. The Quenching process hardens the steel, while the Tempering process restores some of the ductility and removes some of the brittleness acquired during heat treating. 4140 material very suitable for cylinder rod and cylinder barrel  Properties The phys

The hardness of 40Cr steel

Image
40Cr steel material widely be used in the machine-building industry. 40Cr is a standard grade of GB. After quenching and tempering, it will get great comprehensive mechanical property and great low-temperature impact toughness. And its hardenability is good. After the oil quenching, the fatigue limit will be higher. But the fittings with complex shape is easy to get crack after the water quenching. It is also suitable for cyaniding and high-frequency quenching beside Q+T. Its machinability also is good, if the hardness is 174-229 HB, the machinability is 60%.  40Cr steel material is a good choice for medium type plastic mold. It belongs to mild Q+T steel and cold heading mold steel. Also, the price is not high, easy to be processed. After the right heat treatment, it will get good toughness, plasticity and wear resistance. Tempering at the range of 550-570℃, it will get the best mechanical property. The equivalent steel grade of 40Cr is 40MnB, 45 MnB, 35SiMn, 42SiMn, 40MnVB, 42MnV, 40
